Carmody, Clark & Associates believe that authentic leadership is characterized

Personal Awareness - development of a deeper understanding of who you are, what makes you tick, what pushes your buttons, what you value, how your values align with those of your organization, how you develop the courage to be more authentically who you are at work, how you learn from the experiences of life and work, and how you develop a deeper sense of compassion and greater balance in your life.
Interpersonal Wisdom - coming to understand why you react the way you do to clients, colleagues, peers, subordinates and superiors, understanding the consequences of your actions/reactions, learning deeper levels of communication skills, and learning how to change the actions/reactions that aren't getting you where you want to go.
Organizational Understanding - seeing the connections in the larger systems and understanding the context within which you lead, learning to see, to hear and to appreciate multiple perspectives, learning dialogue skills and group dynamics, learning how to express oneself in a way that ensures others "hear" you, learning how to work with conflict - including collaborative approaches to work within your organization, and with clients and stakeholders, learning how to build trust within teams/groups, and learning group facilitation skills.
