TEAM LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT




A major focus of many of Carmody, Clark & Associates' consulting contracts has been that of "team building", or "team mastery" as we often refer to the process. We bring a strong belief that each team is made up of individuals who bring their own truth, beliefs, filters and skill levels to the team, and as such, that change must begin at the level of each individual. CCA initiates team building by using specific interventions to support the individual team members in identifying the issues they personally believe are most important for them to work on, to bring about improved and more effective relationships with one another. Processes include coaching - both with individuals and with the whole team - and other processes that allow CCA to support the development of a deeper awareness and understanding of how each individual team member has a responsibility for their own behavior.

Together with facilitation modules that challenge participants' current view of the world, and in particular their current way of "thinking", a host of interactive experiences, silent reflection, and skill building sessions are utilized. For example a focus could be placed on "dialogue" skills - involving learning to listen deeply to oneself, to others and to the group; to suspend judgment, to reveal ones assumptions; to "seek first to understand" and, to learn how to balance inquiry and advocacy. The team building sessions facilitated by our firm ultimately encompass a wide range of learning for the individuals and the team, and work with the real business issues facing the team as the platform for learning.
